Unexpected

A classmate of mine has just met with a car accident.

Car accidents are supposed to be the stuff of drama serials, a distant "what if". Because this is reality, and in reality, these things just don't happen to you.

Which makes it all the more unnerving. Even though it wasn't a serious collision (thank God), and it was a little bizzare, just knowing that you aren't invincible, that statistics and precautions can't shield you forever, is pretty sobering.

It is a reminder that I greet with uncertainty, a fact that I will try to dispel with a smile and some revision.

I don't think it's going to work though. Sure puts the exam season into perspective.
